I’m a software developer & tech geek based in Minnesota (originally from England). My wife (Nicola) and I are the proud parents of three awesome kids – Shannon, Lilith and Christopher. We’ve got three crazy cats called Dolly [Parton], Norah [Jones] and Nacho / Luciano [Pavarotti] (a “plus size” kitty we rescued), and at least one fish and two mice
After many years of hardcore C++, I developed a fondness for everything .NET; I also picked up goodies like Actionscript along the way
I’m one of those crazy nerds who likes programming enough for it to be a hobby as well as an occupation. I’m also a regular(ish) console gamer; my Xbox Live gamertag is Bob Strogg USA. I have no issues with being pwned as a n00b; Defeat, Humilation and I go way back
The following sums up my sense of humor (there’s a billion variations of this, but I can relate to this one):
A Minnesota Wife
Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.
The first man had married a woman from Ohio and had told her that she was going to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.
The second man had married a woman from Illinois. He had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. The first day he didn’t see any results but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.
The third man had married a beautiful girl from Minnesota. He told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn’t see anything, the second day he didn’t see anything but by the third day some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, enough to fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher.

Dude, love your demos. One suggestion, tho. When you link to a demo via an anchor tag, add class=”snap_noshots” to the tag. That keeps Snap from adding a preveiw to it. Keep up the good work!

mcgurk – Thanks for the suggestion
Yeah those snap things bug me too.

Hi, I would like if it is possible to extend an example from my friend Michael from http://silverlight.schwarz-interactive.de/ex04.zip (online version: http://silverlight.schwarz-interactive.de/ex04/). I would like to have something like moving around and when mouse button up it will move a little bit more with the same direction. Thanks, Matthew.

I’m a fellow software engineer working in the Twin Cities area. We’re embarking on a WPF 3D project and I would like to chat with you via email.
Can you drop me a line?
Thanks,
Cory

Hi,
I can’t seem to find the RSS feed for your blog, neither does IE7. Am I missing something?
Regards,
/CL

Christophe – The feed works ok for me (it’s just a regular WordPress blog)… What happens if you browse directly to http://chriscavanagh.wordpress.com/feed/ ?

I was hoping to touch base with you in regard to a project I have in the Dallas area. It is a short term project with a major jewelry retailer designing and developing a in store kiosk. They are seeking a Silverlight pro to step in and handle the implementation, it should take roughly six to eight weeks. The project is looking to take place after the first of the year. If you are interested please follow up with me asap and if you are not any and all referrals would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking at creating a Physics Canvas for a project. Could you get in contact with me via email, I am interested in the WPF 2D/XBullet and would value your input.
